The Cruise Company Will Pay You If You Are On Medical Leave
Here we need to understand two things, First If you are on board and you got a medical emergency and the company sends you home. Second thing, You came on vacation at home and suddenly you get medical issues at your home and you requested to the company for medical leave.
If You Are Onboard:- If you are on board and you got a medical emergency on board and the company will send you home if needed. In this situation, the company will pay you some amount until your contract gets over and the amount will pay for your basic needs only. Like If your contract is 8 months and you get a medical emergency after 2 months then the company will pay you 6 more months and then they will stop paying you.
If You Are on Vacation:- If you are on vacation and you get a medical emergency at your home and then you requested the company for another 2-3 months of medical leaves. In this situation, the company gives you medical leaves and asks you to let the company know once you are fit for work and ready to join. Here the company will not pay you any single amount of money.
Will Cruise Company will Call Back After Medical Leaves
I have more than five years of working experience on cruise ships and I have personally seen 7 to 8 medical leave cases. In 7-8 medical leave cases only one medical leaves case I have seen that the company calls back once he/she is ready to join a cruise ship. But this case was a car accident case and he/she took almost 6-7 months to recover.
Apart from one case, I did not see to the company that they are calling back once they are fit for work and ready to join the ship. If the crew requested to give the next assignment then most of the company replied that you were on medical leave and now your profile is closed. I do have to prove, If anyone can not believe then comment to me for more details.
